Nigeria’s Nollywood star, Funke Akindele features in Hollywood’s flick Avengers:

Infinity War. The film is an American superhero film based on Marvel Comics superhero team ‘The Avengers’. Funke Akindele Funke played the role of a Dora Milaje member in the film directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. In the list of the cast, she is named as No. 70. The Nigerian actress plays as a member of the Black Panther’s guards, the ‘Dora Milaje’ – who are a team of women who serve as the personal bodyguards of the Black Panther. The film is set for release 25 April in the Netherlands. It tells the story of how the Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. “On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment”. Funke Akindele was born on August 24, 1976 in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria as Akindele Olufunke Ayotunde. Wike moves to ban 5,000 unapproved schools in Rivers

The Rivers State government says it has concluded plans to ban all unapproved schools operating in the state with effect from September this year. State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku, disclosed this when he led members of the Rivers state House of Assembly Committee on Education on an inspection of ongoing rehabilitation work at Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuokwuta in company of officials of the state Ministry of Education. Prof. Ebeku said about five thousand illegal private schools are operating in the state. He said that publications will be done in both National and local papers in the coming days with the full names of the affected schools. According to Ebeku, “We found that there are so many unapproved quacks schools operating in the state and this is not acceptable for many reasons. Stop exploiting Buhari’s ill health, northern group tells Yoruba leaders

Northern Patriotic Assembly (NPA) has warned politicians in the country to stop exploiting President Muhammadu Buhari’s ill health situation for political and personal gains . In a statement issued in Kaduna Wednesday the group said such actions by politicians was “immoral and despicable”.
