Early hour on Wednesday morning being the Fourth day of January 2017, at Ayobo part of Lagos, two police men were seeing fighting with keke-napep driver, when we speak with the driver, we learn that the police have been there to collect the hundred naira from each of the keke operators, this man said he just come out there is no money on him, so the driver continue to shout at the police men to give him his key, then one of the police said, we will deal with you even if your brother is AIG, the questions is, is it right for Nigeria police to bring down themselves so low, fighting in a public because of hundred naira, are we going to continue like this?
Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has petitioned Ms. Agnes Callamard, Special Rapporteur on extra-judicial, summary or arbitrary executions, urging her to “prevail on the Nigerian authorities to halt further killings of innocent citizens in Southern Kaduna.” The group also demanded investigation into recent alleged killing of over 800 citizens, mostly women, children and the elderly in that part of the country by suspected herdsmen, and to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice, and to provide reparations to victims.
